Tom Sandoval on making ‘bigger’ music than his ‘Vanderpump Rules’ co-stars

Tom Sandoval says he makes “bigger” music than his “Vanderpump Rules” co-stars – and he means that in the most literal sense.

“I would say that what I’m doing is a bigger production and that’s why it’s called Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras because we’re f–king extra as f–k,” he told Page Six exclusively Saturday night after his cover band’s latest concert.

The enormity of his act was on full display at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, Calif., where Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras performed for a packed house as cameras rolled for Season 10.

The band is made up of a whopping 10 musicians, the most recent addition being a trombonist.

Sandoval’s longtime love, Ariana Madix, and more “Pump Rules” names – including bestie/business partner Tom Schwartz, Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney and James Kennedy, who served as the pre-show DJ – cheered him on for his live debut of the band’s first original single, “Superstars.”

“I’m really, really proud of this song. It was originally more electronic and I sort of brought it into this full-band experience,” the 39-year-old said of the funk-pop track inspired by Daft Punk and Foster the People.

“I just love the dimension of it, the depth, the layers,” Sandoval elaborated, also revealing that “Superstars” will likely be released within the next few months.

Comparing his work to that of Shay, 37, Kennedy, 30, and Lala Kent — who have blessed the Bravo fandom with such hits as “Good as Gold,” “Get Loose” and “Boy,” respectively — Sandoval said his self-awareness, along with an affinity for retro jams, sets him apart.

“Obviously, Lala, James, Scheana … they’ve done more original music. Look, I’m on a reality show, let’s be real. Me coming in and having people come out and want to listen to, like, 12 original tracks by me? Is that really a draw?” he said, adding with a laugh, “Do I really even want to put people through that?”

Rather, Sandoval enjoys treating fans to lively renditions of classics from the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s. Saturday night’s concertgoers notably lost it when he and The Most Extras broke out into Panic! At the Disco’s 2006 smash “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.”

“That’s the best part about being in a cover band is that people don’t have to come out and be into my s—t,” he told us. “They can be into their favorite songs, you know?”

If the Schwartz & Sandy’s co-founder decides to make more music of his own, though, he would like to next jump in the recording studio with girlfriend Madix, 37, who is apparently a gifted vocalist.

“Ariana has an incredible voice, really good,” he gushed. “Like, she can sing nearly anything. She’s so f—king good.”

Whether or not a musical collaboration between the couple airs on the next installment of “Pump Rules,” Sandoval told Page Six that the series’ landmark season is shaping up to be one of its best yet.

“We have been through the f—king thick of it,” he said, specifically applauding Schwartz, 39, and Maloney, 35, for sharing the aftermath of their split with viewers.

“Every single one of them have put themselves out there,” he said. “Whether [the cast is] currently getting along or not, I at least respect them at the end of the day for really putting themselves out there.”

Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date for “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10.
