It’s official! Sunnydale’s resident vampire slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar, is returning to fantasy TV as executive producer and star of Paramount+ show Wolf Pack.

From the creator of Teen Wolf, Jeff Davis, Wolf Pack is based off the Canadian horror book series of the same name.

Gellar will play Kristin Ramsey, an investigator brought in by authorities to catch the teenage arsonist who started a massive wildfire which led to the reawakening of a supernatural predator loose in Los Angeles

She will be joined by the four leads, Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Chloe Rose Robertson and Tyler Lawrence Gray, as the show follows two teenagers who discover they have become werewolves and form an intense bond.

Sarah Michelle Gellar also took to Instagram to share the news with a sweet compilation of her day at Comic-Con with the backing music “Wolf Like Me”.

Her caption read: “I can finally share where I’ve been (and what I’ve been doing) Oh and it’s coming this year!!”

Gellar announced her triumphant return to the small screen during the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday (21 July).

Everyone knows that Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a huge influence on Teen Wolf,” Davis said on the Teen Wolf panel, “so I always thought it would be amazing if we could bring Sarah Michelle Gellar back to a horror show.

Gellar added: “Everything these guys have been saying about family and the atmosphere of Jeff’s shows is really true. I hope you guys come join us!”

The Wolf Pack Instagram added: “The secret is officially out! We are beyond honored and excited to welcome the ICONIC Sarah Michelle Gellar.”

Fans have shouted their delight at the news on social media of the slayer returning to save the world from more supernatural disasters.

Wolf Pack will air on Paramount+ later this year.
