Selling Sunset’s Maya Vander Has A Miscarriage 6 Months After Her Devastating Stillbirth

Reality TV

Maya Vander is grieving again. The Selling Sunset star suffered a devastating pregnancy loss last December. Her son Mason was stillborn 38 weeks into Maya’s pregnancy. Maya shared her heartbreak with an Instagram announcement. She posted a picture of the memory box she received when leaving the hospital. Maya wrote in part, “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a still birth at 38 weeks. I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone. You will always be in our heart baby Mason.”

As reported by E! News, Maya shared more painful news to her Instagram stories. She revealed that just 6 months after the loss of Mason, she experienced a miscarriage. Accompanied by a photo of her sleeping 3 year old, Maya wrote, “I had a very crazy week. Miscarriage after 10 weeks …following my stillbirth..but my kids and my husband are absolutely my blessing and I am so lucky to be their mother!” She credited her husband and 2 young kids for bringing her life “joy and happiness.” She concluded, “Hug and love the people you care about. Don’t take things for granted.”

Since Maya’s stillbirth, she has openly discussed her grief with her 1.3 million Instagram followers. She wrote in a June 15th post, “I have women (who might be going through the something similar) ask me how I’m doing after my stillbirth & pregnancy loss and how I’m able to continue pushing forward with my daily life.” Maya added, “Everyone handles loss in their own way, but for me I find the key is to stay busy – a healthy distraction always keeps me going.”

For women going through something similar, she advised them to work, socialize, exercise and talk to others. She explained, “From my own experiences, I know the pain of loss won’t heal overnight. but today is a great day to begin or continue furthering the healing process.”

Back in February, Maya announced that she would be starting her own firm, The Maya Vander Group, for the real estate work she does in Florida. She said in a statement, “With our unmatched database and exposure in the industry, your property will sell fast and as a buyer you’ll have access to the best listings!” An insider said that with her own group, Maya has the “best of both worlds…getting to travel to L.A. and work in Florida where it’s home for her and her family.”
