Lil Tjay Shot in New Jersey, Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder

The Bronx rapper has reportedly undergone emergency surgery following a late-night shooting during an attempted robbery

New York rapper and singer Lil Tjay was shot in Edgewater, New Jersey last night, TMZ, CBS New York, and NJ Advance Media report. The incident occurred shortly after midnight last night in what police said was an attempted armed robbery. According to police, Tjay and 22-year-old Antoine Boyd were both shot at a local shopping plaza called 14 The Promenade. Tjay has reportedly undergone emergency surgery, TMZ reports.

Mohamed Konate, 27, was arrested by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the New York City Police Department. He was charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons-related offenses. 

Boyd and Jeffrey Valdez, who was also with Tjay at the time of the shooting, were arrested for unlawful weapon possession.
