Bratz is releasing its first ever same-sex couple dolls for Pride Month.

Bratz is releasing its first ever same-sex couple dolls to celebrate Pride.

The new set from queer-favourite brand, Bratz features characters Roxxi and Nevra, who came out as girlfriends in 2020.

The brand say they’re releasing the set “to honour” the many LGBTQ+ fans who have “made Bratz what it is”.

The Pride-themed Bratz dolls will be released on 1 June at major online retailers including Amazon.

The two characters came out as girlfriends during Pride Month 2020, when Bratz spotlighted them on social media as an out-and-proud couple.

Now fans can get the duo as a set for the first time, with the dolls holding Pride signs that read, “I can’t even think straight,” and “queer and unapologetic”.

The dolls have been styled by out designer, JimmyPaul, drawing inspiration from his own brands, the signature Bratz style and the 1960s, when the LGBTQ+ movement was gaining momentum and national attention.

“I hoped to infuse my personal flair and personal passion for my LGBTQ+ community into this collaboration,” he said. “The collection features bold and brave styles that I hope will resonate with fans and remind them to be their truest selves.”

He adds that the collaboration is “a love letter to the LGBTQ+ community” and those who “have been inspired by Bratz since childhood to live their truth”.

Paul said: “My hope is that the collection brings a glimpse of hope and power and serves as a reminder of both the vibrancy of the community and the gravity of LGBTQ affairs today.”

Alongside the release of the dolls, fans can also shop an exclusive, limited-edition JimmyPaul collection of exact replicas of the dolls’ looks.

They’ll be adult-sized and include a coat, ’60s ringer tees, a glitter dress and groovy jumpsuits.

In addition to releasing the dolls, MGA Cares, the charitable arm of MGA Entertainment, has confirmed a donation of $25,000 to the Trevor Project.

Fellow doll icons, Barbie recently made history as they released their first ever trans doll, inspired by trailblazing icon Laverne Cox.

The actor said that “so many trans girls grow up wishing we had dolls to play with” and “now there’s one made especially for us”.

Fans can get their hands on the Bratz Pride pack from 1 June via the likes of Amazon.

The exclusive, limited-edition premium-wear JimmyPaul collection will also be available on June 1 via jimmypaul.com and several retailers from mid-June.
