A new adventure begins later this year on Disney+ with the premiere of “Willow,” a TV series adaptation/expansion of Ron Howard‘s 1988 fantasy adventure film. The streaming service has announced today that the premiere is set for November 30, and they’ve also unveiled the official teaser trailer that begins a whole new battle between good and the forces of evil.

Into the unknown. That’s where we must go…

The upcoming series for Disney+ is said to “take place years after the events of the original film,” with Jonathan Kasdan and Wendy Mericle serving as showrunners for “Willow.”

“The series introduces all-new characters to the enchanted realm of fairy queens and two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and welcomes back its hero, Willow Ufgood, played once again by Warwick Davis.”

The cast also includes Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Ruby Cruz, Amer Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk, Talisa Garcia, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers, and Ralph Ineson.

Ron Howard, the original film’s director, is producing the new series.
