‘Knox Goes Away’ – Michael Keaton to Direct and Star in Noir Thriller

Horror

Actor Michael Keaton is set to go behind the camera for just the second time in his career for the noir thriller Knox Goes Away.

Deadline reports that not only will Keaton direct the thriller, written by Gregory Poirier, but he’s set to star as well.

The film “follows a contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, is presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son. But to do so, he must race against the police closing in on him as well as the ticking clock of his own rapidly deteriorating mind.”

Keaton’s directorial debut, The Merry Gentleman, was a crime thriller. His sophomore effort teases potential for darker, mind-bending material.

The film is targeting a late-August shoot in Los Angeles.

ICM Partners and Verve Ventures are co-representing domestic rights. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales at May’s Cannes Film Market.

Knox Goes Away is being produced by Brookstreet’s Trevor Matthews and Nick Gordon and Sugar23’s Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta. Carter Stanton and Jillian Kay will executive produce.
