‘The Sacrifice Game’ – Next Horror Movie from ‘The Ranger’ Director Set During Christmas 1971

Jenn Wexler, who directed punk rock slasher The Ranger, is back with new horror movie The Sacrifice Game, and Deadline reports today that Shudder has come on board the project.

Filming begins this month on the horror movie, set in the early 1970s. The primary location is a girls’ boarding school, with the events taking place over Christmas break, 1971.

The Sacrifice Game centers on Samantha and Clara, two students staying behind for the holidays, who must survive the night against uninvited visitors.”

Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Olivia Scott Welch (Fear Street), Gus Kenworthy (American Horror Story: 1984) and Chloë Levine (The OA) star alongside Derek Johns (The Wolf and the Lion), Laurent Pitre (Under the Banner of Heaven), Madison Baines (1UP) and Georgia Acken.

Sean Redlitz wrote the script with Jenn Wexler.

Wexler said in a statement, “The Sacrifice Game is my tribute to the beauty and boldness of ’70s horror, anchored in an unlikely friendship between outsiders.”
