Chrishell Stause claimed her “Selling Sunset” co-star Christine Quinn lied about having COVID-19 to get out of the show’s reunion.
Stause, 40, tweeted a GIF Tuesday of TV host Maury Povich uttering his signature line, “The lie detector test determined that was a lie” in response to a TMZ story about Quinn, 33, doing a photo shoot with “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga earlier that day despite allegedly battling the virus.
Quinn’s rep told Page Six Tuesday that the “How to Be a Boss Bitch” author had tested positive and skipped the reunion taping Sunday “out of an abundance of caution for the cast and crew.”
However, another “Selling Sunset” co-star, Amanza Smith, who also had the coronavirus, was able to film the episode via Zoom.
When asked why Quinn did not opt for the same virtual option, her rep did not immediately respond to requests for further comment.
Quinn was at the center of much of the recent drama on the hit Netflix series after feuding with several of the women — including Stause — so it is likely she would have been in the hot seat for much of the reunion.
Quinn has not responded to Stause’s tweet or the allegation that she lied about having COVID-19 to get out of the reunion.
Some fans seemed to agree with Stause’s assumption, however, with one tweeting, “Awww poor thing didn’t wanna face reality huh 😭🤣 all that talking and bullying she did those other seasons now she can’t handle the heat 🥴.”
Another came to Quinn’s defense, pointing out that perhaps her symptoms “started before the positive test result,” adding a GIF from “Law & Order: SVU” that read, “How about we don’t jump to conclusions?”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises that people quarantine for at least five full days after they have been exposed to COVID-19, so it is possible that Quinn met her five-day mark Tuesday.
Smith, for her part, announced via her Instagram Stories Tuesday that she, too, was now “COVID-free” and “out of the house.”
Netflix did not return multiple requests for comment on Quinn’s COVID-19 diagnosis, whether she was offered to appear at the reunion via Zoom or whether her absence will affect her future on the show.
