Ted Cruz is being relentlessly mocked after insisting Disney will soon show Mickey Mouse having gay sex with Pluto in “every episode”.

The Texas senator hit out at Disney’s eventual opposition to Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, which bans the discussion of LGBT+ topics in classrooms, while filming an episode of his live Verdict with Ted Cruz podcast at the University of Alabama.

During the podcast, Cruz was asked whether he thought that it was “appropriate to call someone a groomer if they are trying to teach sexual material to young children”.

While Cruz admitted that the word “groomer” should be reserved for “predators who commit horrific acts”, he added that there is “an effort from the left to sexualise everything”.

The audience then got an insight into Cruz’s thoughts that they definitely didn’t ask for.

He continued: “I think there are people who are misguided, trying to drive, you know, Disney stepping in, saying, you know, in every episode now they’re gonna have, you know, Mickey and Pluto going at it. Like, really?

“It’s just like, come on guys, these are kids, and you know, you could always shift to Cinemax if you want that.”

His bizarre comments have been brutally mocked, with one Twitter user writing: “Remember this about Republicans: every accusation is a confession. In other words, keep your pets away from Ted Cruz.”

Rick Wilson, co-founder of the Republican political action committee the Lincoln Project, added: “You do NOT want to see Ted Cruz’s PornHub search history.”

Wilson later added: “I did NOT have ‘Cartoon Dog Porn Expert’ Ted Cruz on my Tuesday Hellscape Bingo card.”

While Disney was initially criticised for its lacklustre response to Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, and its political donations to Republicans pushing it, the Walt Disney Company has since declared that the bill “should never have been passed”, and has committed to helping to repeal it.
