It’s expensive to be her! But having expensive things can surely come back to haunt you when the person who gave them to you is accused of running a Ponzi scheme. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne is trying to move on with her life. But unfortunately for her, the courts are far from done with her. Thanks to husband Tom Girardi’s alleged mishandling of client funds, Erika has been slapped with a $25 million lawsuit. To make matters worse, Tom’s victim’s lawyers hit Bravo and RHOBH producers were hit with a subpoena. It’s been suspected that they are looking for any financial info they can get on Erika.
Now Radar Online is reporting that Erika is refusing to hand over some expensive earrings. Tom bought the jewelry during their 20+ year marriage. According to the attorney investigating Tom, he bought the earrings with client funds. As part of the investigation of funds for Tom’s bankruptcy proceedings, the trustee has been looking at bank statements and financial records.
And that’s where the pricey earrings came in. Tom stands accused of purchasing the $750K diamond earrings with funds from his law firm’s client trust account. The trust accounts where clients would be safeguarding their settlement money until their respective payouts. The earrings in question are now worth an estimated $1.4 million. Court documents state that Tom purchased them from M&M jewelers. He allegedly concealed the purchase by “describing the purpose of the check” as a “cost” item as part of one of his lawsuits.

The trustee is demanding the return of said earrings but Erika has refused to comply with the request. documents state, “Erika has no legal or equitable right to the Diamond Earrings and the same are legally and equitably valuable assets of the GK Bankruptcy Estate that the Trustee can and should sell.” A motion was filed asking the court to force Erika to give back the earrings within 5 days. This is to block her from selling them or transferring them to someone else.
Erika still hasn’t responded in court and Tom is unable to do the same for himself given that he’s under a conservatorship. His family claims he is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and have moved him into a senior living facility.
