Jennie Nguyen Got Fired From Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City

Reality TV

90 percent of my brain space these days is completely preoccupied with the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Lisa Barlow calling Meredith Marks a whore in that hot mic moment? It plays in my head on a loop like an overplayed pop song. I wake up in chills because Mary Cosby abruptly left the show without a trace. And then there’s the constant upkeep with Jen Shah’s impending court case and fraud allegations. Also, I have to honorably mention Seth Marks’ birthday cake shaped like Whitney Rose’s boobs, which has given me nightmares for weeks.

This week, the Bravoverse exploded when the newest RHOSLC star Jennie Nguyen was exposed. The fandom discovered Facebook posts from 2020 that were racially insensitive regarding the Black Lives Matter movement. The RHOSLC ladies can’t agree on anything, except that they are done with Jennie after that discovery. Meredith disengaged without a problem. Meanwhile, every other cast member has made statements varying in their vagueness about the issue. It started a major conversation within the Bravo community and finally, the network has acted accordingly.

Bravo announced on Tuesday that Jennie has officially been fired from RHOSLC, Page Six reports. Took them long enough. Andy Cohen did tell fans to be patient when it came to addressing Jennie, so at least this was worth the wait. “We recognize we failed to take appropriate action once her offensive social media posts were brought to our attention,” Bravo said in the statement. “Moving forward, we will work to improve our processes to ensure we make better informed and more thoughtful casting decisions.”*Lisa Barlow voice* Byeeee Jennnieeeeee.

The statement made it clear that Bravo has ceased filming with Jennie. But it looks like she’ll still be at the reunion since that’s already been taped. I’m also curious if Season 3 will feature an episode or two about the group reacting to the posts in real-time. I want to see Jen Shah go off on everyone about how messed up it is. Also, I wish Mary would return from the abyss to tell these girls “I told you so” about Jennie’s red flags (even though Mary’s offensive statements toward Jennie are still not OK whatsoever). I’m sure the Bad Weather duo of Whitney and Heather Gay would have plenty to say as well.

At this point, Bravo may just want to refilm the RHOSLC reunion, even though that probably won’t happen. I wish Mary would come back, hold herself accountable and keep entertaining us with her wacky antics on the show. I am honestly good without wrapping up Jennie’s story in a nice bow, too. She’s made her opinions loud and clear with her weak apology.
