Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe took to Instagram to call out “hateful messages” after coming out as queer.

Phillippe, 22, who is the daughter of Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, publicly came out on Instagram this month.

But on Wednesday, Phillippe sent her followers a warning about “bigoted” and “hateful” comments on her posts.

Although she did not reference any specific comments, she wrote on her Instagram story: “QUICK REMINDER: I can and will block profiles commenting bigoted/ hateful messages under my posts.

“My Instagram profile is not a place for cruelty/ hate speech and I intend to do what I can to keep it that way. Peace and love.”

Phillippe has previously said that she works hard to make sure everything she posts on social media is helpful and kind.

She told E!’s Daily Pop that before she posts, she considers: “What is that going to mean to somebody else? What does it mean to me? Is this helpful? Is it important? Is it charitable? Is it something I want the world to see from me?”

“I do have a platform of some sort, for sure, and I want to be conscious of what I am posting,” she continued.

“I might not always get it right but I’m always going to try my best to put good out there.”

For Ava Phillippe, ‘gender is whatever’ when it comes to attraction

Model, influencer and college student Ava Phillippe publicly addressed her sexuality earlier this month, while answering questions from followers on Instagram.

When one follower asked her whether she liked “boys or girls”, she responded: “I’m attracted to… people! Gender is whatever.”

At the same time, she also told her followers that her life would be “very” different if her parents had not been famous.

“That said though, I wouldn’t change a thing,” she said.

“The good and the not-so-good all made me who I am and gave me so many amazing opportunities. My parents get to do what they love, which is super cool.”
