Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness has landed a new Netflix series based on their podcast, Getting Curious.

The show, produced by makers of RuPaul’s Drag Race World of Wonder, will see Van Ness meet with experts to uncover the interesting inner world of a wide range of subjects.

Announcing the show on Instagram, Van Ness said: “I have been working towards this moment for almost ten years and it’s finally here!! My first ever solo network TV project created and executive produced by yours truly is here!

Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness is the TV adaptation of my podcast of the same name (which coincidentally turns six years old today!)

“In each episode I take on a different question, going out into the world with multiple experts to get the answers we’re all (or at least I am) hungry for!”

Jonathan Van Ness has hosted the Getting Curious podcast since 2015. Over the years they have covered a wide range of topics on the show, including the history of scissors, vaccine misinformation, and the very first Olympics.

The hairdresser, podcaster and TV icon is set for a busy year: as well as hosting their own Netflix show, they will also appear on the upcoming sixth season of Queer Eye set in Texas (landing 31 December), while also coming to the UK as part of their 2022 tour

Entitled Imaginary Living Room Olympian, the show is inspired by JVN’s passions for gymnastics and figure skating, which regularly feature on their Instagram feed.

These passions will be combined with stand-up comedy, Queer Eye tidbits and of course, some inspirational mantras.

Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness stream on Netflix from 28 January.
