Luann de Lesseps says Ramona Singer’s behavior on ‘RHUGT’ is ‘sad’

Reality TV

Cue the violins.

In an exclusive new interview with Page Six, Luann de Lesseps says that her pal Ramona Singer’s polarizing behavior on “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” is just plain “sad.”

“It was unexpected. I felt really kind of sad for her,” the Countess, 56, tells us, reflecting on the moment Singer, 65, shared intimate details of Lesseps’ sex life with ex-husband Tom D’Agostino on the Peacock spin-off.

“I felt like she was a little lost and the odd girl out. I never want anybody to feel like that because I’m not that kind of girl. I’m always inclusive and I’m not a mean girl and I think [the fans] know that.”

Though de Lesseps didn’t want to further marginalize her “Real Housewives of New York City” co-star among a group of women she was already struggling to connect with, de Lesseps felt she had no other choice but to defend herself.

“You can only take so much. When you cross a line with me, you’ve gone too far. I just felt like she needed to grow from this experience. It’s not enough to say you’re sorry sometimes,” the “Chic C’est La Vie” singer says.

“You have to show people that you’re willing to change and not just say, ‘I’m sorry.’”

As “RHONY” fans are well aware, Singer — infamously known as “The Apologizer” on the Bravo reality show — has a pattern of making vicious statements about her castmates only to express remorse in dramatic ways, before repeating those that pattern ad nauseam.

She brought this bad habit to Turks and Caicos as well, sparring with most of the “RHUGT” cast — including de Lesseps, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey and Teresa Giudice — at one point or another and then begging their forgiveness.

Not even Singer’s allies Melissa Gorga and Kyle Richards were able to condone Singer’s attack on de Lesseps — and made it clear that they were disappointed in her conduct.

“It doesn’t fly when you keep doing the same thing over and over again. That’s the definition of craziness, right?” de Lesseps says. “Those girls [on ‘RHUGT’] get to go home. I get to go back to New York with Ramona. We work together on the same show. She’s on my cast. They don’t have to deal with her when they get home.”

Adding, “I just wanted to have resolution and I wanted to make sure that she understood me and that she could maybe grow from this experience.”

When asked if Singer has changed for the better since their made-for-TV vacation, de Lesseps giggles and says, “I don’t know.”

Still, the cabaret performer — whose string of Christmas shows are in full force — tells us she is grateful they were eventually able to patch things up in the Caribbean.

“Ramona has been there a lot more for me in terms of showing support,” de Lesseps says. “She sang on my Christmas song, ‘What Do I Want for Christmas?’ — and she was in the video and ate all the caviar! I think there is a softer Ramona. I just feel like she was a little fish out of water on [‘RHUGT’].”

“The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” is available to stream on Peacock.
