The Challenge’s Nelson Thomas was knocked out after being sucker punched by someones “husband” in Las Vegas! According to TMZ the police report states that Nelson was “flirting” with the man’s wife in the valet area of the ARIA Resort and Casino. It sounds like the incident was caught on security film. Kevin Nixon turned himself in for the assault, and was charged with battery and grad larceny after admitting to being “drunk” and “jealous”.
According to the police report, Nelson spoke to a woman in an elevator and continued the conversation after Kevin Dixon had left the elevator. Yeesh. A whole KO over chit chat? Seems…extra? And with a D-list celebrity in Vegas? Isn’t that half the appeal of Vegas? Just me? Thankfully, Nelson is doing well overall. He is on the mend and his nose has been fixed after the sucker punch.
Nelson has a different story about the attack, though. He claims the man who knocked him out “lied to the cops.” He is denying flirting with a woman before the attack. He explained, “The criminal who attacked me lied to the cops because we tried to find her for questioning and he never showed up to a court date. The guy is a criminal. He snuck up on me, attacked me, then robbed me.”

In an Instagram post Nelson told fans, “I was in Las Vegas and was sucker punched & kicked in the face because the guy was trying steal my jewelry. Yes the police caught him but I was left with a broken nose. It was so swollen that no doctor wanted to see me until the swelling went down.” Justice for Nelly!
I’ll admit that until recently, Nelson has never been one of my favorites on The Challenge. That said, the latest season is giving me so many mixed signals. Now that we’re down to a mainly veteran cast, my opinions are shifting. In a recent episode Nelson did the entire viewership a solid by calling Devin Walker-Molaghan out for his god complex in the deliberation chamber. I’ve also caught myself siding with Josh Martinez several times. A true renaissance era in Challenge history.
