Melora Hardin Says Her Scores Didn’t Line Up With What The Judges Said On Dancing With The Stars

Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev was a fixture on the series for many seasons without coming close to clinching the mirror ball. According to Entertainment Tonight, during season 29, Artem was paired with The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe. This dynamic duo took home the glittering mirror ball. And being on DWTS was a dream that Kaitlyn fought hard to achieve.

Melora Hardin, who acted in the TV series The Bold Type and The Office, was paired with Artem this season. The couple did very well, earning mostly positive comments from the judges. But Melora and Artem were sent home just before the finals, along with Olympic gymnast Suni Lee and her partner, Sasha Farber. Melora spoke with US Weekly and some other reporters about her elimination.

Melora stated, “I didn’t feel like [the judges] were judging our performance from who we are, what we came from and how we performed tonight. They said all these incredible things [about our dances], but then the scores didn’t match … which was a bit disappointing and upsetting,” she added.

Melora and Artem were given the rumba as their redemption dance and were coached by head judge Len Goodman. Who doesn’t love watching Len teach all about hip action?

Their rumba received a 36 out of 40 points, with Len giving the couple their only 10. Melora was shocked by their score and felt that they “danced like [we earned] 10s tonight.” I must admit that some of the judges’ comments didn’t seem to match their scoring.

“All the pros came up to me and said they’ve never seen a female celebrity dance the rumba that beautifully. It’s a really hard dance to do,” Melora explained. “It’s very technical and it’s got to be very flowy and central at the same time that it’s incredibly technical.”

It is a shame that Melora and Artem didn’t make it to the finals. She deserved to be there.
