Tina Turner was inducted as a solo artist during the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this week. Turner, who was inducted alongside Ike Turner in 1991, was introduced by Angela Bassett at tonight’s ceremony. H.E.R. and Keith Urban also performed “It’s Only Love,” Turner’s duet with Bryan Adams, country artist Mickey Guyton played her iconic single “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” and Christina Aguilera covered “River Deep, Mountain High.” Watch the performances—and Bassett’s intro—below.

Foo Fighters, Carole King, Jay-Z, Todd Rundgren, and the Go-Go’s were also part of the 2021 Rock Hall class. The ceremony honored Kraftwerk, Gil-Scott Heron, and Charley Patton with the Early Influence award, while Randy Rhoads, Billy Preston, and LL Cool J were honored with the Musical Excellence Award.

A new documentary about Turner, titled Tina, arrived earlier this year. Read “The New Tina Turner Documentary Puts a Triumphant Final Stamp on a Tragic Story” over on the Pitch. Follow all of Pitchfork’s coverage of the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
