Film Rating Site Suggests New Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Is Near

Movies

A new posting on a film rating site suggests that the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is releasing soon. Starring Tom Holland as the web-slinging hero, the Jon Watts-directed film is arguably one of the most anticipated films of the year. With its premiere now less than two months away, viewers can expect Marvel Studios and Sony’s marketing to ramp up again very soon.

The first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer was released back in late August 2021 and quickly became the most watched trailer in a 24-hour period. Clocking in at three minutes, it was surprisingly liberal in terms of laying out the film’s story, which picks up after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Peter Parker’s life is turned upside down after Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) revealed his secret identity as a friendly neighborhood superhero. Desperate for help, Peter reaches out to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help. But instead of resolving the mounting issues, things seem to get worse as the sorcerer’s spell may expose Earth to the threats of the multiverse.

Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s second trailer listing was spotted by a Twitter fan account, Spider-Man NWH Update and Leaks, on a Korean government website. The discovery would seem to suggest that the video has already been checked and approved, and is only waiting for the ‘go’ signal from Marvel Studios and Sony for its release. The listing doesn’t including any further information, such as possible runtime or release date for the film. Check out a screenshot of the listing below:

So far, there has been no other indication of when Spider-Man: No Way Home’s second trailer will be released. It’s possible that, ultimately, it may be a couple of weeks before it drops, so that it doesn’t take away attention from the looming premiere of Marvel’s Eternals. However, there have also been instances in the past in which an MCU trailer drops right before a new film opens in theaters. Of course, Sony is also part of the decision-making process in Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s release, which could have an impact on Marvel Studios’ usual approach to the film’s marketing timelines. Whenever the second trailer does come out, however, it’s likely that the film’s first official poster will also be unveiled, since no one-sheet has been released yet.

Aside from the release date, it will be very interesting to discover what new surprises a new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer will include. Its predecessor did a great job establishing the film’s premise, but there are still a lot of questions about the film. Arguably the biggest one is whether or not Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be in it. While Holland insists he doesn’t know whether the previous Spider-Men will appear, there has been plenty of speculation that suggests otherwise. Naturally, this will be the biggest talking point of any upcoming trailer.
