The Real Housewives of Atlanta is going through a moment. We lost longtime peach holders Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams amidst the cast shakeup prior to the next season. The rumor has it that new ladies will be brought into the mix. And Marlo Hampton might be FINALLY getting her own peach. It’s about damn time.
Even though 50 Cynt is out, she’ll still appear on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip alongside Kenya Moore. But in a recent interview with E! Online, Cynthia reveals that the network offered her a new role as a friend-of, which is a demotion from a peach holder. Of course, she had to reference her old school friend contract with NeNe Leakes in her quote.
“Ironically, I actually introduced the friend contract on the show, but that’s neither here nor there,” Cynthia said. At first, she thought being a friend-of would be a good way to transition out of the show. “And then I decided, you know what, cut the cord,” she added. So it was all or nothing for 50 Cynt and her cheekbones. But honestly, it was the right time for her to go. She’s had her heyday several seasons ago and she wasn’t bringing a whole lot to the show in recent seasons.

50 Cynt says looking back, she doesn’t know how she did RHOA for 11 years. She knew it wasn’t going to last forever, so she spent a lot of time thinking about how to go. “It’s a hard show to do. I feel like I did it, I did it my way and I made it out alive, with a brand and a whole husband,” she added. Well, two husbands if we’re looking at her entire Bravo career, but who’s counting (besides Papa Smurf Peter Thomas).
And while there’s a possibility of her returning to Bravo in some capacity, Cynthia said “not right now”. She needs at least a year to take “a drama break.” But she’s “not saying never ever ever,” at least for now. So Cynthia told Bravo to take their friend contract and rip it up for the time being. And now we’re onto the next era of RHOA with Season 14.
