Real Housewives Of New York Reunion Is Officially Canceled

Reality TV

Season 13 of Real Housewives of New York was honestly a bit of a total bust. But it was being filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a small group of just five women. And based on the current events, there seemed to be a dark cloud shadowing over the entire season. Now, a pretty unsatisfying season has met its appropriate end — an officially canceled reunion. After all of the cast was ensuring that a final wrap-up would happen. Womp womp.

According to Peoplescheduling conflicts are to blame. A Bravo spokesperson confirmed that the taping couldn’t be done in a timely matter, so the network decided to cancel it altogether. “It’s disappointing to not be able to bring the cast back together, but we are happy to have ended on such a high note with the finale and are now shifting our focus to next season,” the spokesperson said.

And who knows what direction next season will take. There are rumors RHONY is going on a permanent hiatus indefinitely. And that Ramona Singer’s wild ride might be making a final stop — without even a proper send-off for an OG. Everyone has an opinion on whether or not the show needs to bring back some old faces (for example, Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer) or Bravo needs to find an entirely new group altogether. And who knows if after a rocky first season if RHONY’s first Black housewife Eboni K. Williams will be done with the show just as she was getting started. All I know is Bravo better not tough Sonja Morgan or the Morgan letters. She’s a gem that needs to be protected at all costs. That includes Marley as well.

But it does make sense that Bravo chose to forgo the RHONY reunion in general. It wouldn’t make sense to air the episode weeks after the finale. And considering explosive storylines on shows like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it’s just not necessary. It is just strange to think of a season of any Real Housewives city without a proper reunion filled with glam and a whole lot of drama.
