This week we lost a true gentleman in Bravo-land. Gregg Leakes, Nene Leakes’ husband since 1997, passed away from colon cancer at the age of 66. That is just way too young. Gregg was Nene’s biggest supporter. In addition to leaving Nene, their son Brentt Leakes, and his step-son Bryson Bryant behind, he also leaves behind five children from previous relationships.
Gregg and Nene separated and divorced in 2011, only to remarry in 2013. It was obvious to Real Housewives of Atlanta fans that the couple loved and supported each other in spite of the ups and downs of a relationship. A bunch of bravolebrities shared their support for Nene and offered condolences on social media. And then others posted clickbait content about Gregg’s health. No seriously – Real Housewives of Orange County’s OG Vicki Gunvalson is under fire for posting clickbait in her Instagram stories.
Dave Quinn posted screenshots from Vicki’s Instagram stories to his twitter with the caption, “not the paid swipe up bait….” In the screenshots, you see that Vicki– or an incompetent, underpaid social media manager – posted a picture of Nene and Gregg together, with a large caption of black and white graphic lettering that said “pray for Gregg as Nene reveals he’s dying.” The words were punctuated with a broken heart emoji and prayer hands emoji. Just all around distasteful.
To make matters worse – Vicki shared another story that showed Gregg and Nene together, with the caption, “pray for Nene’s husband Gregg,” and a large “Swipe Up” message with an arrow. Just gross.

Followers responded to Quinn’s twitter post with a bunch of comments – one person wrote, “wow, that’s in poor taste.” Others wrote my exact feelings, “disgusting,” “how revolting,” “ewwww,” “gross,” “I cringed when I saw that,” and “wow. Just wow.”
One person commented, “that’s so disrespectful! How f***ing dare she!” And another person answered with their own comment, writing, “the rent was due.” Someone else wrote, “it’s family van disgusting.”
Vicki did, however, post a sweet tribute to Gregg and Nene on her Instagram grid. Which might actually make this weirder because you can’t just forget that she posted clickbait in her stories. Even if it was an intern, shouldn’t Vicki be giving final approval of any post on social media? Like this one person tweeted – “this is f***ing bizarre.”
