Man Dies After Falling From Balcony at Dead & Company Concert in New York

A 46-year-old man fell at Citi Field on Friday. He died at New York Presbyterian Hospital later that night.

A 46-year-old man fell to his death at a Dead & Company concert on Friday (August 20), Variety and Deadline report. The concert was held at Citi Field in New York City, where the man fell from a balcony at the stadium. A spokesperson for the New York Police Department told Deadline that the man’s injuries were “consistent with falling from an elevated position.”

Variety states that first responders were called to Citi Field at around 9:05 p.m. on Friday night. The man was transported in critical condition from the venue to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, as Variety reports. Mets Events, who orchestrate the programming at Citi Field, released the following statement to Variety:

We are aware of a tragic incident which sadly resulted in a fatality last night. Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to the attendee’s loved ones.
