Hello Viviane! How are you doing today?

Hello!! I am very good, thank you!

Tell us about your teaching background!

My teaching background is very international. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where my teaching career began. I have taught in Brazil, United States, and Portugal. I have always taught Elementary School and I have taught both Common Core and IB (International Baccaureleate) curriculum.

What inspired you to become a teacher?

I was inspired by my third-grade teacher who was very supportive and who made me fall in love with the profession.

What would you say your teaching strategy/ philosophy would be?

I teach my students for the future. I want to see them prepared for the unknown. Being open-minded is something that I would like to see all my students become.

What would you say are the top three qualities someone should have as a teacher?

open-mindedness, flexibility, and empathy

What do you hope to see in the change as education evolves?

I hope to see more diversity in the classroom and more personalized learning based on the students’ needs
