‘The Final Girl Support Group’ Audiobook Will Be Narrated by ‘Friday the 13th’ Star Adrienne King!

Horror

Author Grady Hendrix‘s slasher book The Final Girl Support Group is set for release on July 13, and today we’ve learned some exciting news about the tale’s audiobook version.

Revealed by Hendrix this afternoon, Friday the 13th‘s original final girl Adrienne King will be narrating the audiobook version of The Final Girl Support Group. How perfect is that?!

Hendrix tweets, “I could NOT be more excited! Adrienne King, the first final girl in the first Friday the 13th movie, is the narrator of the Final Girl Support Group audiobook. Adrienne has been a huge supporter of my book and I’m honored to have her on board.”

“The opening of Friday the 13th Part 2 casually kills off Adrienne King, and ever since I saw it in 1981 I wanted to write her a happier ending,” Hendrix also notes in a follow-up tweet.

The audiobook version will also be released on July 13.

In The Final Girl Support Group, “Lynette is a real-life final girl who survived a massacre. For more than a decade, she’s been meeting with five other final girls and their therapist in a support group for those who survived the unthinkable, working to put their lives back together. Then one woman misses a meeting, and their worst fears are realized—someone knows about the group and is determined to rip their lives apart again, piece by piece.”

“But the thing about final girls is that no matter how bad the odds, how dark the night, how sharp the knife, they will never, ever give up.”

Meagan wrote in her review for BD, “Hendrix puts his characters through the absolute wringer. It’s a bloody, vicious voyage for the flawed heroine, both physically and emotionally. In terms of action and horror, Support Group delivers breakneck pacing and thrills.”
