Candiace Dillard Shades Monique Samuels For Talking About Real Housewives Off Potomac After She Left The Show

Candiace Dillard Bassett Real Housewives Of Potomac

Season 6 of Real Housewives of Potomac is set to debut on July 11, 2021. According to the trailer, it looks pretty entertaining. Last season of RHOP focused on the physical altercation between Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels. On October 16, 2019, Candiace taunted Monique about dragging her. While cameras were rolling, Monique grabbed Candiace by her hair and yanked her down on a table.

Candiace filed a case against Monique for second-degree assault. Then, Monique filed a case against Candiace for the same thing, claiming that Candiace struck her in the face with a glass. Eventually, both the charges were dismissed by the court.

This troubling event split the RHOP cast into two groups. Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo were all Team Candiace. Ashley Darby was on Team Monique, and Karen Huger tried to stay neutral. Ashley even wrote a letter to the court in support of Monique. Candiace was furious.

According to Monique, several of her RHOP co-stars tried to get her fired. And Candiace has said that the bad blood between her and Monique stemmed from a rumor questioning the paternity of  Monique’s son, Chase. Candiace denied any part in spreading the rumor, she was just present for the planning stages. Sure, Candiace.

Monique came to the reunion ready to play, with a binder of receipts. Yes–an actual binder. Now that is an iconic Housewives move!

On December 27, 2020, Monique went on Instagram Live to announce that she was quitting the show. Monique believed that she and her husband, Chris Samuels, were not treated fairly, and she stated that she would never return to RHOP.

But Monique still has some gripes about Bravo. She claimed that Bravo wasn’t allowing her to freely talk with the press. Monique stated, “You would think after being quiet for almost a year, I would be allowed now that we can talk about it, to talk about it. I was not even getting press opportunities,” the RHOP alum remarked. “They tried to ban me from doing press.”

Monique also commented about filming the show, stating “I don’t [miss it].” Spoiler alert- one Potomac lady who doesn’t miss Monique is Candiace. The singer said of Season 5, “It was hard and it was very dark, so, anytime you have a dark cloud, when that cloud is removed, it obviously lifts the morale of the group and allows a space for us to move forward.”

Apparently Candiace was keeping tabs on Monique’s recent interviews. On June 8, 2021, Candiace hit up Twitter to throw some shade in her old buddy Monique’s direction.

“Smh. I quit a job once that I really hated. I was ELATED to be rid of a place and ppl that were just not for me,” Candiace wrote. “After I left, I never talked about that job again. Bc I left of my own volition. It was my choice.” She added, “Any resentment died w/my choice to leave. I’ll just leave this here.”

Naturally, Twitter chimed in. “I feel this,” one fan commented. “READD,” another one wrote.

One user posted, “There must not have been an opportunity to capitalize from it. I’ll just leave this here.” Another follower stated, “Alot of us wish it was YOU that had left.”
