Vanderpump Rules is getting ready for a comeback – if you can call it a comeback. The show isn’t going to be the same as it once was when it premiers, even if we’re going to see some familiar faces. Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, James Kennedy, Lala Kent, Scheana Marie, and Raquel Leviss are all returning.
We won’t be seeing Beer Cheese Moguls Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright because they “stepped away.” We also won’t be seeing OGs Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute – 2/3 of the Witches of WeHo – due to racist actions. And thankfully, we won’t be seeing any of those one-season wonders no one cared about to begin with. The faces might be changing on Pump Rules, but so are the lifestyles of these former SURvers. Everyone is either married, engaged, and/or a new parent. The most shocking change of all though is that James got sober and is now engaged to bambi-eyed b*itch Raquel.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Pump Rules overlord, Lisa Vanderpump commented on James and Raquel’s engagement. She started by saying, “James… sometimes he’s a little more complicated, and I have to manage him a little bit more as you will see.” She then continued saying, “but congratulations to them [on their engagement.]”
LVP also stated the obvious by adding that Raquel’s, “the best thing that ever happened to him.” She also shared that she’s proud of Raquel this coming season. “But you really do see Raquel kind of blossoming, blooming the season, you really do. You see her, really, have a voice.” This should be interesting, considering Lala is still on the show.

LVP’s final comments included another evaluation of Raquel. Lisa emphasized that Raquel, “was very much like a deer caught in the headlights before.” YUP. “But now she’s, like, actually kind of really comes out of a shell. So, it’s good to see.”
Time will tell what this new season holds. I’m going to be watching out of curiosity. But I’m also keeping my fingers crossed it hasn’t lost the spark that made it fun.
