Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has hinted that she “isn’t straight” in Instagram post celebrating Pride Month 2021.
On the first day of Pride season (1 June), Turner, best-known for playing Sansa Stark on the fantasy TV series Game of Thrones, posted to her Instagram story: “It’s MUTHAF**KIN Pride month babaaaayyyyy.”
She added multiple stickers, which read “move I’m gay”, “time ain’t straight and neither am I”, and “gay Pride”. The largest sticker, however, was a “bi Pride” heart that led fans to believe she was coming out as bisexual.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Happy Pride, Sophie Turner is bi which of course now canonically establishes Sansa Stark as a bicon thank you for respecting my privacy during this glorious time.”
“Sophie Turner may be bi and my fellow femme heart can’t take it,” tweeted another.
However others pointed out that Turner, who is married to Joe Jonas, has already suggested she was queer in a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone.
Interviewed shortly after getting engaged to Jonas, she said: “I was fully preparing myself to be single for the rest of my life. I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know.
“I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know – I’ve met enough girls to know.”

Asked what she mean by “the girls part”, she explained: “Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender.”
In 2016, Turner also expressed that she would have liked her character to be bisexual on the show.
She said: “In the Game of Thrones universe, I think she’s going to have to swing the other way – because the men thing isn’t working for her.”
Asked who she would like Sansa to end up with, she replied: “Judging by Sansa’s relationship with Margaery… probably Margaery. Or Arya, because I’d like to see that happen. I’d love a love scene between Arya and Sansa.”
