How to Play the Pokémon Mod in Among Us | Screen Rant

The trend of adding popular characters and game, film, or television franchises into Among Us as mods does not appear to be slowing down any time soon, and a new mod allows the Impostor to transform into two of the best known Pokémon to fight the crewmates. The Pokémon Trainer Role mod for Among Us allows Impostors to take on the role of not only a Pokémon trainer trying to catch all the crewmates, but also a Pokémon trainer’s trusted companions, Pikachu and Charizard, for overpowered and creative kill opportunities. Like other overpowered Among Us Impostor role mods, the goal for crewmates becomes less about social deduction and more about surviving as long as possible to be the last crewmate standing.

The Among Us Pokémon Trainer Role mod introduces several new abilities for the Impostor to use when they want to sabotage and kill crewmates. The abilities are based primarily on moves from Pikachu and Charizard, and most can be performed globally from anywhere on the map. When an Impostor kills using several of these abilities, the other crewmates can see but not report the body, making the match even more challenging as it limits their communication opportunities. The Charizard attack in particular is capable of taking out multiple crewmates at once, all but ensuring an Impostor win. With pop culture inspired mods like these, Among Us is less about social deduction and competition and more about being creative with new powers, combinations, and possibilities among friends. Here’s how to play the Pokémon Trainer Role Mod in Among Us.

How to Play as Pikachu, Charizard, and a Pokémon Trainer in Among Us

An Impostor transforms into Charizard in the Pokémon Trainer Role Mod for Among Us

The Among Us Pokémon Trainer Role Mod was created by @LooKuM / MRE for Nicovald and their friends and is currently not available for public download. Players may have luck getting into a game that uses this mod by joining a server that has it installed. Players can also always try their hand at programming a version. It is also possible that, given its popularity, other modders will eventually program a version of this mod and make it available for wider use.

When a crewmate is chosen to be the Impostor in Among Us with the Pokémon Trainer Role mod installed, they will gain more abilities for creative sabotages and kills, including:

  • Capture: The Impostor captures a crewmate in a Pokeball, effectively killing them. There is a chance the capture won’t take, and the crewmate may break free.
  • Pikachu: The Impostor transforms into Pikachu. Pikachu can typically run faster than the crewmates.
  • Electrocute: Pikachu zaps a crewmate with electricity. Only available while transformed into Pikachu.
  • Charizard: The Impostor transforms into a giant Charizard.
  • Fireball: Charizard launches a fireball anywhere on the map that burns up any crewmates caught in its path. Only available while transformed into Charizard.

Impostors should be careful about using the global abilities Capture and Fireball. While Capture can be done from anywhere on the map and can easily be attributed to another crewmate, every crewmate can hear Charizard transform and the sound of the Fireball. Any crewmates grouped together can deduce who might be responsible based on who is not present when they hear the sound.

Impostors still have access to the regular Sabotage and Kill buttons. The best sabotages to use with the Pokémon Trainer Impostor Role mod include lights, doors, and oxygen or reactor. This helps Impostors separate large groups of crewmates, trap a group together for an effective Fireball attack, or prevent the crewmates from seeing Pikachu run by and electrocute a player.

The Electrocute ability leaves a body for crewmates to report, making communication somewhat easier. The other two main attacks do not leave bodies, only a Pokeball or a charred pile of ash. Crewmates can best thwart the Pokémon trainer by sticking together and completing their tasks successfully. This will make it difficult for the Impostor to use Charizard and Fireball and can help crewmates deduce the Impostor before they run out of time.
