‘JAB THE WORLD’ Chart Buster Vineet Releases “‘SO NEW”’

Celebrity, Music, News

You are fresh from a rare achievement of getting into the DRT Rock TOP 50, what’s next?

My single Jab the world peaking at number 8 on the DRT ROCK TOP 50 opened my eyes to the global radio potential of my music. So, while I am excited to see my name next to the rock legends like Green Day, ACDC, Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, Papa Roach etc I am equally grateful to the multitude of radio stations who have played my song. Next is to try my best in various formats / genres of music and not typecast myself too quickly into one genre.

How would you classify your new single ‘SO NEW’

SO NEW is clearly HOT AC POP (Adult contemporary). I am glad the radio stations are seeing it that way. It is an upbeat synth driven sound. I enjoyed singing it with a happy energetic tone.

It’s a ‘mood up’ song you can shake your butt to whenever you feel the need to!

Is there a message in this song too?

Not a message but just a response to a situation. When something or someone makes you feel ‘so screwed’ you need to yank yourself out of that crappy situations to feel ‘so new’.  Saying ‘NO’ to someone frees you! Little things like sipping your favorite beer or watching, in my case, my fav actor Margot Robbie’s smile puts me back on cloud 9 after a messed up day!

What are the bands / artists that inspire you?

Artists who are ‘genre agnostic’ like Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift who push the limits of their creation within the main stream space inspire me a lot. Artists that have a mainstream upbeat sound coupled with sparkling vocal ability have shown the way. There are many artists who are very good but I can’t handle ‘dark music and lyrics’. I need my sound to be ‘optimistic’.

What is your process like of creating a chart busting song?

My agent Martin has a very good sense of what will ‘work’ .  He is also very genre driven and like me, believes that great radio play is essential to chart positions. The simple thing about radio is a song must have ‘repeat listening value’. For that you need a great chorus hook and a groove. So I create a chorus and a great groove and then work the rest of the song around that. I think like a producer and a sound designer and treat my own vocals as integral to the whole song. I never get carried away trying to make vocals ‘overpower’ the song. The production and mix must always have ‘room’ for expansiveness and you need to master music by ‘ear’ as much as you rely on technology!

Singles or albums? What works according to you?

It all depends on your strategy as a music creator. Singles are great to ‘refresh’ yourself every 45 days. Of course that’s a lot of work. Singles free you from the ‘common template’ of an album. Singles allow you to push the limits of any genre you are targeting and help experiment with new audiences. Albums on the other hand work really well when you have decided to focus on a particular audience and genre. Albums don’t allow focus on more than 1 or 2 lead singles and so only the ‘die hard’ fan actually goes through the whole album. So it’s singles for ‘excitement’ and albums for ‘consolidation’.
