Warzone Season 3 Leak Reveals New Operator & A Destroyed Verdansk

Movies

A new Call of Duty: Warzone leak has suggested that the upcoming Season 3 will kick off with a changed Verdansk map and a new operator. For weeks now, fans have speculated that the Season 2 finale would eliminate Verdansk completely. However, this leak tells a different story. The leaked map has yet to be confirmed, but it does fall in line with the retro theme revealed in a recent Warzone Season 3 cinematic trailer.

The exact fate of Verdansk has never been clear, but a series of Easter eggs, leaks, and recent Warzone events suggested that Season 3 may mark the end of the map completely. For starters, a ship crashed onto Verdansk, sending a horde of zombies to areas across the map. Meanwhile, Warzone players have heard whispers of an alleged nuke event arriving soon in the game. The sudden appearance of missiles all over the Verdansk map only fueled those rumors. Fans have theorized that the Verdansk zombie outbreak will soon become uncontrollable. The only way to stop the outbreak would be to nuke Verdansk in an epic finale event, thus destroying the map. Activision further hinted at such a finale in saying that Verdansk would soon have a “reckoning.”

A new leak suggests that Verdansk will indeed see a reckoning, but it may not be completely wiped from existence. As Dextero reported, a since-removed post from Reddit user HalfMileRoad suggested that the Season 2 finale may somehow take players to a “flashback version of Verdansk.” The map will allegedly be very different from its current state, but Verdansk will continue to exist. Although the flashback map is unconfirmed, it seems possible that it will tie into the 1980’s theme introduced in the cinematic trailer.

Well-known Call of Duty leaker _Nanikos_ was able to share the leaked image on Twitter before the Reddit post got deleted. The alleged Warzone Season 3 cover art showed what the leak claimed to be a new Season 3 operator. If the leak is true, then one of the new operators will be a blond woman wearing a dark mask. The background was a bit hazy, but the unnamed woman seemed to be standing in front a destroyed Verdansk building. “Another bad guy,” Nanikos said of the character.

No matter what Verdansk will look like, all signs suggest that Season 3 will mark some major changes to Warzone all around. Activision has yet to confirm anything regarding the alleged nuke event for the Season 2 finale, but the developers have started a cryptic and eerie countdown to April 21, 2021. There are only a few more days until fans finally discover the fate of Verdansk and the future of Call of Duty: Warzone.
