Real Housewives Of New Jersey Star Margaret Josephs Wants Goldie Hawn And Kate Hudson To Star In Movie Adaptation Of Her Book

Reality TV

Margaret Josephs adds a bit of quirk to the Real Housewives of New Jersey.  She has eclectic life experiences and professional success that complements the rest of the cast.  Margaret is quick-witted and clever but doesn’t shy away from pushing an opponent’s significant other into a pool.  She’s a mixed bag for sure.

Viewers of RHONJ know that Margaret will share tidbits of her life, but there is clearly so much more to her.  And it seems like Margaret knows that she can give just so much on the show, while teasing fans about a memoir that promises to reveal everything about the entrepreneur’s life.

Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget: How to Survive in Business and Life is a tell-all of the Real Housewives of New Jersey star who joined the cast in Season 8.  In it, she shares what influenced and shaped her life along the way.

“I think there’s so much about me on the show that people don’t know,” Margaret told Entertainment Tonight, “I got on the show when I was 49. I had a very different upbringing — that I didn’t realize was so different, until I went to therapy and [learned] it was a crazy fun life.” She added, I think it made me who I am and I could have gone, literally …. been a drug addict or a hooker any day of the week, easily!”

The book reads as a collection of essays and starts with Margaret’s relationship with her mother.  Marge Sr., as she is lovingly called on the show, is credited for defining Margaret’s childhood as, “it was the Nixon years” and “we’re Europeans.”

The short stories reveal a girl who was taught to be tough from the beginning.  Margaret described her childhood, “I say, I was raised by wolves, and I think it’s a story to be told.  What I learned about myself is, I was much stronger than I thought I was — and I forgot about so many of the stories. I really dug deep.”

Margaret’s recollections were not always complementary of her mother and Margaret worried about Marge Sr.’s reaction to certain revelations.

“I was nervous because she kept saying, ‘Honey, let me read the book,’” Margaret explained, “I was very concerned, because I did share a lot of things that are not the most flattering — but she knows it was done with love — and what I went through, and you know what? She loved it. The one thing about Marge, Sr., she owns who she is, and she, as an older woman, has validated everything that I went through as a child.”

Margaret divulged the complex relationship between her and her mother in the book.  But from what viewers see on Real Housewives of New Jersey, it’s clearly one built on love.

Marge Sr., as much as it was so crazy, I knew she really loved me,” Margaret added, “we raised each other.  It ws like, she was Barbie and I was, you know, her sex kitten little sidekick, like Skipper.”

Being the ambitious woman that she is, Margaret is already jotting ideas for a movie or mini-series adaption of her book, though nothing is officially in the works.

“I would love to do something,” Margaret said of the idea, “I always say it would be like Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson in the older years, and then younger we’d have to figure out who it was.”
