Reina Hardesty Joins Amazon’s “The Boys” Spinoff Series About Young Adult Superheroes

Horror

Amazon is developing a spinoff series for “The Boys” that will center on a group of young superheroes, “set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (or “supes”) that is run by Vought International.” Deadline brings us an update today, the site reporting that Reina Hardesty (“The Flash,” “Brockmire”) has come on board for a leading role.

Jaz Sinclair (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Lizze Broadway (“Here and Now”), Shane Paul McGhie, Aimee Carrero, and Maddie Phillips also star in the series.

The site notes, “It is described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.”

Craig Rosenberg will serve as showrunner and he’s also writing the pilot.

Producers will include “The Boys” team of Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

“The Boys” is based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
