Talk to us about your new music!
Thank you for having me! I just recently released a full length album “Carousel” that features 12 songs I wrote and recorded in Nashville at Pentavarit Studio with producers Bobby Holland & Brad Sample. It feels like the most authentic representation of my artistry I have ever made, so I’m super happy with it and proud of it!
Do you have any unreleased tracks?
I do have some unreleased tracks- I don’t know that they’ll never see the light of day, though. I actually was thinking about this today because I read that some never before released Prince music is being released from his “vault” and while I LOVE Prince and totally want to hear everything he ever created, it feels kind of unfair that it’s coming out when it seems like he didn’t think it was meant to be. I know what it’s like to create something and not want to share it, I am a little sad that his private songs are going to be shared without his consent.
What is the most important part about the music industry?
I think the most important part of the music industry is authenticity. I believe people can tell when something isn’t genuine, so it’s important, as creators, we always work to keep it very real.
What are you competitive about?
I don’t think I am competitive about anything! Competition makes me super uncomfortable haha I just want us to all succeed.
What sacrifices have you had to make in order to get your career to where it is?
I have had to sacrifice many things on the path to artistry- mostly missing out on things like weddings, birthdays, and social gatherings because tour dates happen at the same time. It can get you feeling lonely from time to time, but the people truly in your corner understand and don’t take it personally.
