Use Plague Power in Upcoming Soulslike ‘Thymesia’

Horror

While non-PS4 gamers might not be getting Bloodborne anytime soon, developer OverBorder Studio and Team17 look to have something of an alternative in their newly-announced title, Thymesia. Announced during Gamesradar’s Future Games Show Spring Showcase, Thymesia is an action RPG soulslike that borrows many concepts from From Software’s gothic baby.

Thymesia tells the tale of a kingdom that after discovering the power of alchemy, soon realizes that there’s a price behind it. An attempt to stop alchemy’s use backfired, resulting in the kingdom becoming swarmed with monsters. It’s up to Corvus to stop the monsters, as well as reclaim his memory in the process.

Of course, the title doesn’t straight-up copy Bloodborne. Corvus has the ability to “seize the disease” in using the power of the plague from boss monsters in his quest, granting him new abilities. And, as his namesake, Corvus will also be able to change into a raven during battle, giving him additional abilities and attacks.

Currently, you can wishlist the game on its Steam page. It’s slated for a December 31st, 2021 release, so keep an eye out for it.
