Right on schedule, Techland has provided an update to Dying Light 2‘s development. In a new video posted to YouTube, Techland explains the delays with a “huge and complex project” in Dying Light 2 as necessary to deliver a game that will “live up to our vision”.

Tymon Smektala, the lead designer for Dying Light 2, appealed to fans in the video to trust and support the team during this remaining development time. Techland acknowledged the frustration in fans by reading off angry Tweets from fans on Twitter. The team responded by asking fans to be patient for “just a bit longer”, as Techland promises more on the title’s development soon.

After that, the video cuts to 30 seconds of new clips from the game, followed by a graphic that lists the release date of 2021, though an exact date wasn’t discussed or revealed.

Dying Light 2 is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC.
