“The Lambs Were Screaming”: Super Bowl Spot for Sequel Series “Clarice” Ends the Silence [Video]

Horror

CBS is taking you back to 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, with brand new sequel series “Clarice,” which is headed to CBS and CBS All Access next week.

The series premieres on Thursday, February 11 at 10/9c, and CBS has aired a few TV spots for the series during the Super Bowl tonight. The most notable one is the show’s official Super Bowl commercial, labeled “Trying to Save the Lamb” and reminding us of Clarice Starling’s past experience with screaming lambs. She couldn’t save them, but she’ll never stop trying…

Rebecca Breeds (“Pretty Little Liars”) will star as Clarice Starling. The previously announced cast also includes Michael Cudlitz as Paul Krendler, Lucca de Oliveira as Tomas Esquivel, Kal Penn as Shaan Tripathi, Nick Sandow as Agent Clarke, Devyn Tyler as Ardelia Mapp and Marnee Carpenter as The Silence of the Lambs character Catherine Martin.

“Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.”

“Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice graduated Magna from UVA with a double major in Psych and Criminology. Her bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. Her complex psychological makeup comes from a challenging childhood, and her drive comes from her need to escape the burden of family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.”

Elizabeth Klaviter (“The Resident”) will show-run “Clarice,” working alongside writers/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny LumetMaja Vrvilo directs the pilot.
