Kelly Dodd Fired From Positive Beverage Due To “Controversial Views”

Kelly Dodd Real Housewives Of Orange County

Are Kelly Dodd’s days as a Real Housewives of Orange County cast member coming to an end? It sure seems that way. Season 15 just wrapped, following almost a year of Kelly’s many controversial comments, denouncing the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic.

She has also come under fire for wearing a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat in the midst of the Black Lives Matter reunion. She claimed that she is a Black woman during the reunion, which she justified by taking a home ancestry test. Her own stepdaughter addressed those comments, schooling Kelly on race and prejudice in a social media rant. Even Kelly herself said it is “likely” she will be fired from Bravo. So, why does she keep putting her foot in her mouth? Over and over and over and over again.

Kelly has been fired…. from Positive Beverage, the sparkling water line that she’s worked with since 2019. And if that’s still not ringing any bells, she wore their logo hats a lot throughout the show’s past two seasons. And if you are having trouble recalling the visual (which is also in this story), maybe you remember Kelly hoping that her product gets into Walmart during the cast’s meditation session Arizona last season.

Positive Beverage’s Head of Brand Zach Muchnick spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the decision to part ways with Kelly.  He explained, “Our core values of wellness, community, diversity and inclusion should be reflected by our brand and anyone associated with it.”

He continued, “It has become clear over the past few months that Kelly’s controversial views and opinions have distracted from our primary objectives, so effective today, we are no longer affiliated with Kelly Dodd-Leventhal.”

The company’s spokesperson said, “Unfortunately, we feel Kelly’s stance is no longer congruent with our core values. We appreciate her contributions during our affiliation, and she will always be a part of Positive Beverage’s history, but we do not align with her opinions or global views while we uphold our own values.”

In a series of Instagram Stories, Positive Beverage addressed its consumers directly, stating, “2020 taught us that words have power and listening can unite. We listened to you, and have and important action to share.” And then they posted pretty much the same statement the company shared with Entertainment Tonight.

Surprisingly, Kelly kept things positive (pun-intended) when the news broke about her firing. She tweeted, “I’m glad I could help put Positive Beverage on the map and wish them well. I’m also really excited about my next venture in the beauty industry, which is my real passion. Stay tuned!”
