An American songwriter and rapper, The Valiant One (real name Terry Wilburt) seems to present to his listeners that it’s his turn to spread the goodness. A gospel and Christian artist, The Valiant One succeeds one lyric at-a-time.

“I Know You Know” is from the album The Resistance of God: Season Of A King. Wilburt, who heads his own record label (Christ Life Records), starts and keeps the adrenaline high each second. He really jumps right in and gets the energy at a high level. His voice hovers above the drilling and winding music bed. I can’t quite match that sound to something familiar, but I can convey to readers that this single makes you feel like you’re moving through the anxieties in his life. His words are a beacon of hope, a statement of his faith. I know you know how much I really love you, Jesus, his words echo. The lyrics continue to elevate his personal beliefs. While the music bed might be in an opposition, of sorts, to the positivity and the emotional delivery, it’s an invigorating juxtaposition. The rousing beat, the disarray that unfolds in the music bedrock is in an all-out dance with Wilburt’s confident voice. His voice is full of conviction.
The Valiant One doesn’t rely on any additional embellishments or unnecessary whistles. He has a tried-and-true, steady beat that just continues to bolster his message. He’s charismatic, but he’s more than sincere. He’s the kind of artist and performer that you could have a cup of coffee with, and feel just as comfortable seeing him on some of the biggest stages.
The Valiant One continues to pile on the reasons to fall under his spell. He’s wickedly quick, but paces himself just the right speed for the listener to clearly hear the words. In past reviews, I’ve noted that energy that artists take from the stage and bring it into the studio. I think that’s the case in “I Know You Know”. I closed my eyes and imagined Wilburt in the recording room, and what I can only imagine is him surrounded by his faith. Invisible to you and I, but I can easily testify that Wilburt is surrounded by angels and the Lord. I know that might sound ‘out there’ but something tells me he’s guided by his faith and well, he has some people ‘up there’ looking out for him.

I’m also confident that fans of pop music and some of the more contemporary rappers will also appreciate The Valiant One’s skills. “I Know You Know” has the power to influence and entertain. Doubled with the murky, but grooving beats, The Valiant One scores big. “I Know You Know” connects on a level that all music fans will dig. This song is encouraging on many levels, and it’s certainly one that That Valiant One can champion.
