Star Wars Art Imagines Kylo Ren Capturing Baby Yoda | Screen Rant

New Star Wars fan art imagines Kylo Ren apprehending Baby Yoda, aka Grogu, sometime in the future. Disney’s era of Star Wars has resulted in an interesting mix of content that has earned some very colorful reactions from fans. In continuing the Skywalker saga with a new trilogy, Disney and Lucasfilm came under fire from dedicated Star Wars fans who disliked the new story beats. However, when the studio turned to television and produced The Mandalorian, Star Wars was once again redeemed in many people’s eyes. The Mandalorian is widely regarded as one of the best things Disney has released since purchasing Lucasfilm.

Save for the helmeted title character, the MVP for The Mandalorian is undoubtedly Baby Yoda. The powerful little tyke was unveiled at the end of the first episode, and the first two seasons of the series have revealed some major details about him. The Mandalorian season 2 concluded with what many fans suspected would happen: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) arrived to take on Grogu as a student at his growing Jedi Temple school. While fans were thrilled to see Luke, this left a major question behind: Was Baby Yoda involved with Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) attack on the Temple?

This question has opened up numerous story possibilities for fans, who see it as a way to bridge the gap between The Mandalorian and the sequel trilogy. Fan artist spdrmnkyxxiii created a piece where Baby Yoda finds himself firmly within Kylo’s grasp. Based on Kylo’s appearance, this art would suggest Baby Yoda survived the Jedi Temple massacre and was taken by Kylo afterward. Of course, when it comes to art, everything is up for interpretation. Check it out below.

Kylo, Luke’s nephew, was also a student at the Temple. However, as revealed in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke’s brief lapse in judgement led Kylo to go on a rampage and destroy the Temple – and everyone in it. Provided Baby Yoda didn’t leave the Temple by this time happened, it’s probable that the young child became one of the victims. Understandably, this horrified fans, but it’s not certain that this is what happened within canon.

Presumably, The Mandalorian season 3 could provide some clarity on this matter. It remains to be seen if Baby Yoda will remain a part of the show going forward, but his protector Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) will. There could very well be a way to reunite the two in season 3, and that might save Baby Yoda from Kylo’s attack. Star Wars fans will just have to tune in to see what happens next.
