Filming Has Wrapped on ‘Army of the Dead’ Prequel Movie; Zack Snyder Shares First Look at Cast

Horror

Announced back in September, Netflix and Zack Snyder‘s upcoming zombie film Army of the Dead is getting a prequel anime series with “Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas,” and an “international prequel” of the feature film variety is also on the way. The latter project has wrapped filming this week, we’ve learned courtesy of Snyder himself over on Twitter.

Snyder also shared our first look at the cast of characters. Find it below.

Shay Hatten is writing both the prequel and the animated series, with Matthias Schweighöfer directing the prequel that’ll center on his character from Army of the Dead.

As for the main movie, that too takes place in Las Vegas. Snyder recently described, “A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city – they build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino.”

Army of the Dead is expected to take a bite out of Netflix in 2021.
