Interview with Jill Valdez

Celebrity, Fashion, News

Hi Jill! Thanks for being here today!

How do you maintain a routine/schedule?

My routine/schedule is based on the premise that any event that I calendar has the potential to change my life. I create a dream week schedule and then stick to it. Obviously, there are things that come up which weren’t originally in the plan. That’s why it’s important for me to have a margin. Otherwise, the schedule gets so off that I end up chucking the whole thing out the door!

Is there a theme for your clients right now?

The theme for my clients is that there is still plenty of opportunity for growth and development. Circumstances are crazy right now, but that doesn’t mean we as individuals and businesses can’t figure out a way to make tomorrow better than today. It may not be the major goals and dreams that my clients had at the beginning of 2020, I know. But to finish this year and say that they are better than they were at the beginning of the year is an accomplishment to be striving after.

What is your biggest personal challenge?

Honestly, my biggest personal challenge is eating healthy. I am simply not motivated to make the time to plan and prepare, which means I’m not making the best choices.

What is teaching you right now?

This sounds cliche, I know. But life is teaching me right now … teaching me gratitude, teaching me hope, teaching me perseverance, teaching me to be joyful, teaching me to not be stressed by circumstances I can’t control, teaching me to enjoy simple things, teaching me to appreciate people in my life.

If you could be next-door neighbors with anybody, who would it be and why?

I would absolutely love to be next-door neighbors with Mr. Rogers!! I grew up watching “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” and was shaped by the messages of acceptance and contentment. And he encouraged kids like myself to imagine and make-believe and dream!

What are 3 things you cannot live without?

Family, coffee, and books!

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with no preparation beforehand?

Teamwork, how to be the best team, and how to be the best teammate!

What is inspiring you right now?

I am so inspired right now by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest! My husband and I moved to Portland at the beginning of March of this year. The fall colors have been breathtaking! And for the first time in a long time, Thanksgiving is going to be cold weather.
