Watch Dolly Parton Make Stephen Colbert Cry When She Sings “Bury Me Beneath the Willow”

Music, News

Dolly Parton was a guest on tonight’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. During Parton’s interview where she discussed her new book Songteller and upcoming Christmas album, she spontaneously broke out into song. She sang the bluegrass standard “Bury Me Beneath the Willow,” and as she sang, Colbert began legitimately crying.

“So I better hush before you cry yourself to death and you can’t finish the show,” Parton said. Colbert laughed while wiping his eyes, adding, “Like a lot of Americans, I’m under a lot of stress right now Dolly.” Watch it happen below.
