Kelly Dodd Says She “Supports Black Lives And Racial Equality” Following Bridal Shower Controversy

Reality TV

Kelly Dodd Real Housewives Of Orange County

Kelly Dodd has spent 2020 offending people on the internet (and probably in real life). She has made many controversial statements about the coronavirus, including the time she described it as “God’s way of thinning the herd.” Kelly said that people are “going to die anyway” when she downplayed the severity of coronavirus. She said “no one is dying in Orange County.” She has even posted “jokes” and memes about coronavirus.

She also got in some hot water, when a video from 2016 resurfaced where she said she “doesn’t like black guys,” which led to Tamra Judge saying that Kelly should be the next one fired. Kelly clapped back by saying she has experienced racism as “a woman of color.” In case anyone was confused by that statement, Kelly is of Mexican descent. And, to cap it all off, she wore a “Drunk Wives Matter” hat at her bridal shower, dismissed the backlash, and declared. that “all lives matter.” What a dramatic year for Kelly. And, just think, Real Housewives of Orange County hasn’t even started airing yet.

Kelly responded to the “Drunk Wives” matter backlash again with a post on her Instagram page.

Kelly wrote, “Over the weekend at my bridal shower I got lots of gifts and briefly displayed them. One was a hat with a play on words since I’m about to be wife, I’m on a Housewives TV show, and might be drunk once in a while. It was not intended to offend or make any kind of statement. Of course I support black lives and racial equality! Thank you all. Love, Kelly.”

However, some people weren’t buying that. One fan commented, “You openly support Trump, talk about the ridiculousness of masks, and now this. It’s the culmination of your actions that are a reflection of your character. When you have a spot light and use it poorly you may loose that spotlight. It’s risk vs reward. People have lost their jobs on Bravo for less.” Another person commented “#firekellydodd.”

Kelly did get support in the comments section too. One IG user said, “How ridiculous that you even have to state this. We are still free for now to have a sense of humor. If people don’t like it click off the post.” Someone else told Kelly “I want that hat.” Oh, girl. No.

Kelly thanked a fan who told her to “stop worrying about offending someone that does not even know you.” She also thanked someone else who commented “People need get a grip on what a joke is.”

Someone else commented, “Instead of keep eating you should say KEEP REACHING! Lol” and Kelly told this person “well said.” Another fan said “Wtf happened now? Can people just let you enjoy ur life!!!” Kelly replied “Nope it’s so sad.”
