Nothing says “Fangoria” quite like a gory still image from an upcoming horror movie, and indeed you’ll find one on the cover of the magazine’s brand new issue this October.
Bloody Disgusting has been provided with a first-look image at Issue #9’s cover tonight, showing off a gruesome beheading from Christopher Landon’s upcoming slasher Freaky. We had been promised the film was Rated R, and the gory image does that rating proud.

Under new ownership, Fangoria returns in October as a print quarterly, with Phil Nobile Jr. as editor-in-chief and Meredith Borders as managing editor.
Nobile teases Issue #9, “Not gonna lie – we had 25 pages of Candyman coverage, and it created a crater in issue 9 when they moved the release date the other week. Thankfully, at the same time, Universal and Blumhouse dropped their trailer for Freaky and hooked us up with some great (and gory) content. We’ve got interviews with Freaky director/co-writer Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day) and star Kathryn Newton, and a very special piece written by the film’s co-writer, Michael Kennedy (Attack of the Queerwolf podcast).
