Schitt’s Creek centers a wealthy family that loses their fortune and must regroup and rebuild their illustrious empire in a small town they must move to, a town they previously purchased as a joke. The series stars Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’ Hara, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliot, Emily Hampshire, Jennifer Robertson, Sarah Levy, Karen Robinson, Dustin Milligan, and Noah Reid. While the show came to a rather definitive and heartfelt end with its series finale, fans have wondered whether or not there will be a season 7. Levy, who portrays David Rose in the series, has recently given fans hope that the revered characters could return in some way or another.

According to TVLine, after the series’ multiple wins at the Emmy Awards Sunday night, Dan Levy told reporters that he would return for a Schitt’s Creek movie on one condition. When discussing the possibility of the series returning for a feature film, Levy stated,
“This is the best way we could have ever ended the show. So if there is an idea that ever pops into my head worthy of these wonderful people, it’d have to be really frickin’ good at this point, because this is a really nice way of saying goodbye.“
Levy goes on to also say, “So, fingers crossed that we get a really good idea coming into our heads at some point. But I would love to work with these beautiful people again.” While the series finale wrapped up the main story of the show with a bow, some fans have lingering questions after season 6. Season 6 concluded with David marrying Patrick, who decide to stay in Schitt’s Creek for their happily ever after, and the rest of the Rose family leaving the town to pursue their own adventures and dreams. While the Rose family had their respective arcs come to a close, a possible film may be able to explore some of Schitt’s Creek‘s supporting characters in addition to bringing back the main cast.
The Canadian sitcom proved to be one of the most hilarious and endearing sitcoms ever made throughout its six-season run. The wonderful performances, writing, and overall consistency made the series a joy to watch as the Rose family slow changed for the better with each new season. The possibility of the series returning for a feature film is certainly enticing, but the way the show ended was wholly satisfying and unambiguous. However, fans are sure to be excited that Levy is open to reviving the vibrant characters that make Schitt’s Creek such a delight.
