NeNe Leakes’ Store Is Going Out Of Business

Real Housewives of Atlanta veteran NeNe Leakes has had a rough year. Her claims of being ganged up on during the RHOA reunion led to her walking off. It’s put her tenure as a housewife up in the air. And while NeNe claims she wasn’t fired, she also said she doesn’t know if she will return to RHOA. Which basically means she was fired, let’s be real. That statement is what housewives use when they want to save face.

Word is that NeNe has been sniffing around, looking for her own show on another network. Too bad it’s been reported that there is zero interest. Must be a huge blow to her ego. So Miss Leakes finds herself between a rock and a hard place. At least she’s still got her store, Swagg.

Oh wait, never mind. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, NeNe’s store is officially going out of business. Going-out-of-business signs were hung on the windows. There were also signs announcing that “All Sales Final”. Another sign read, “Fixtures For Sale” and “50-75% Off.” It didn’t look like anyone was in the store at the time.

Swagg was opened in Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta, in 2017. The location was opened after NeNe closed her previous store in Buckhead. NeNe also owns Swagg Boutiques at the MGM National Harbor in Maryland and Miami Beach. As far as we know, those locations aren’t closed (yet) and the websites remain active.

Due to the pandemic, NeNe had previously closed down the Sugarloaf Mills store. While the store did reopen eventually, stores in the area, like in so many other places across the U.S., took a massive hit.

One store that seemingly escaped closure is costar, Kandi Burruss’ boutique, TAGS. Kandi opened the store in 2009 and many though NeNe copied off Kandi’s business idea, hoping for the same level of success. But if Kandi has taught us anything on the show, it’s that she knows how to mind her businesses and her coins.

While NeNe has yet to comment about her store closure and her reps haven’t responded to comment, this is just another business blow for the well-known diva. While the store may not be a major source of income for NeNe, this is just one more thing working against her in a major downturn in her career. Can she salvage what’s left of it?
