The most recent episode of Below Deck Mediterranean was an absolute doozy. Doozie? I don’t know. I’m still recovering. **Spoiler Alert**
Watching chef Kiko Lorran be applauded by the guests split between him sobbing in his cabin and telling chief stew Hannah Ferrier he loves her forever warmed my cold dead heart. Watching Captain Sandy Yawn scurry around figuring out that a beloved chef being fired mid charter might bring down morale cooled it right back off though. Don’t worry. As always, Hannah was caught between the two trying to hold it all together. She’s already dealt with a ton. There was the loss of her second stew. Then the return of her less-than-friend, Bugsy Drake. Let’s not forget she’s still sharing quarters with racist and since fired idiot, Pete Hunziker. Though well-earned, it didn’t make watching Hannah’s panic attack on this week’s episode any easier.
As hard as it was to watch, Hannah used the most recent episode, and her pregnancy, to do some good in the world. She took to Instagram to share a photo of her baby belly. Her caption started with “BABY SHOWER ANNOUNCEMENT!! Please read on… ”
Hannah’s caption continued, “So what you see if this photo is a very happy, smiley, pregnant woman. What you see in tonight’s episode is a very distressed, upset, stressed out and anxiety ridden woman… They are both the same people – just in different situations. As many of you know I suffer from anxiety which can be brought on by many different things but tonight’s was brought on by seeing my good friend @hindrigolorran [Kiko] in such pain and being unable to help him.”

I sort of wonder if Hannah really couldn’t have helped Kiko by going to chat with Sandy about her part in his cuisine. That said, girl was struggling and Sandy is on a tear this season. Hannah’s announcement continued, “This paired with severe lack of sleep and feeling like I was stuck in a situation I didn’t want to be in brought on a panic attack.” Ugh. You hate to see it. Literally.
It’s easy to judge from our couches, of course, and Hannah called that out. She quipped, “What you see on TV and what is happening inside someone’s head can often differ.” She went on to add, “A lot of you have sent me messages asking for my baby register which is so amazing of you. My little one is very blessed that we can provide all they need but in place of that I have set up a baby registry with one of my favourite charities @lifelineaustralia – Lifeline assists people in need with anxiety, desperation and raises awareness for suicide.”

This is a truly fabulous way to use the generosity people often exhibit for babies for others who are in need already. Hannah wrapped up her caption saying, “Any donation large or small would be greatly appreciated and it will be amazing to let my little one know they made a difference before entering the world.”
The post caught the attention of former castmate Jamie Jason. Jamie also shared some love on Instagram. She posted an absolutely gorgeous picture of herself with Hannah. Jamie’s caption read, “Absolutely honored to call this gorgeous heart and soul and mother to be my friend….She often forgot to put herself first and to take care of her own well being wile putting everyone first” D’awwww!!!

I think we’ve all heard that Hannah has called this her last season. Am I actually starting to get sad about it??
