Bruce Campbell Voicing Richard Nixon in Dark-Comedy-Thriller ’18 1/2′

Horror

It’s not a project we’ll likely be covering beyond this bit of news but we figured all the Bruce Campbell fans out there would be excited to hear that the horror icon has signed on to star in political dark-comedy thriller 18 1/2, providing the voice of Richard Nixon!

The Wrap broke the news tonight and the site explains that the historical fiction film is “about the 18 1/2 minutes of audio erased from President Nixon’s Oval Office voice recording system that led to the unraveling of the Watergate scandal.” The voice you hear on those tapes will be provided by Campbell, and it sounds like he won’t physically appear in the movie.

Dan Mirvish is directing, and Bruce’s frequent co-star Ted Raimi is also on board!

It’s interesting to note that Campbell had recently played Ronald Reagan on the “Fargo” TV series, so this is actually the second time he’s playing a former United States President.
