But the most exciting news is that Luna is making an appearance in the game. The oh-too-cute character first appeared in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and though her role in Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ newest update will largely be the same as it was there, there are a few important differences.

What Does Luna Allow Players To Do In Animal Crossing?

Luna is a tapir, which is a large mammal that closely resembles a pig. They’re native to South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia. She’s fitted in an adorable pink and white outfit along with white flowers in her blonde bun. Previously, in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Luna allowed players to dream and subsequently visit towns they’ve previously visited. Alternatively, players can also visit any village that’s available through SpotPass. This lets players interact and have fun in the town, just as they would if it were in real-time, without being online. The only catch is the changes don’t actually save, which is part of what makes it a dream. Luna could be found in the Dream Suite, next to Club LOL.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons Luna will also help players visit other towns in a dream-like sequence. But rather than finding her at the Dream Suite, which is not featured in the 2020 game, players can simply get cozy in any bed and opt to fall asleep. They’ll instantly start dreaming and suddenly Luna will appear to help transport them to the town of their dreams (pun intended). Players will literally be able to visit other Animal Crossing islands across the world, allowing them to meet new friends and get inspiration for their own islands. Even more, players can also show off their own towns and open them up to dream visitors, further encouraging players to get creative with their island designs.

Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s summer update will reintroduce Luna to the franchise and open up worlds of new opportunities, all thanks to the power of dreams.
